The impact on the grade would be severe, as that much water damage will most likely knock it down a few full grades.

Yes, staining is severely hammered, especially if the size is considerable, like this.

 

I have a very pretty FF issue looking like a 9.0 which was brought down to a 8.0 because of some back cover foxing: staining is treated as much as severely, so I guess I’d expect a pair of points off or so.
