Picked up on eBay. My concern being the sun shadow on the edges (especially the back cover edges), what do you think?

I think that would grade higher than 8.0-9.0

 

don't think CGC would deduct that much for negligible dust shadow

 

you said you sent it back... what did the seller claim the grade was?

You didn't notice from the eBay listing pics?

I'd give this about a 9.2, maybe even 9.4

 

In 9.2-9.4 grades:

The inside pages and covers usually will be off-white to white, but can be creamy or slightly yellowish.

Seller said it was "HI GRADE" and "NM/M+++" and "You will not find better raw copy". I know not to trust most of what I read in an eBay listing, though. :-)

 

His scans were a little lighter than mine and, no, I didn't notice the shadow unfortunately. He didn't give me any problems in returning. I ordered 3 or 4 other books from him, though, and they met my expectations.
