Amazing Spiderman 1 - with a tear

Hi All,

 

So I'm considering buying a high grade copy of Amazing Spiderman 1. The spine is beautiful with one small stress line that very subtly breaks color, the edges and corners are very nice, no indentations or creases and the front and back cover have vibrant colors. The only issues are a tear on the top of the front cover that is about 1 inch or so long and some ink splash on the top right side of the front cover, which appears to be a printing defect so I'm not as worried about it. So what grade would a virtually gorgeous copy of Amazing Spiderman 1, save for this 1 to 1 and 1/2 inch tear come back at?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Based on your description, I think it would be a 4.5 at the lowest and a 6.5 at the most. It would depend on the other defects/wear/etc.

Agreed... I'd proceed with caution price-wise. A 1" top edge tear is going to drop it from 'high grade' to 'midgrade' pretty quickly, regardless of the book's other positives.
