Was wondering what you think the potential of this might be after a press. Still a little glossy

I think best case 6.0 post press and around 4.5/5.0 as is.

5.0 right now, no higher than 5.5 after a press. Most of the defects are not of the "pressable" variety.

 

With that top staple being off the spine, a press actually cause color breakage or even tearing around that staple. It looks like the lower staple might be slightly off the spine as well.

I was thinking a press would help with that back cover wrinkling by the lower staple

It would help with that particular defect, which is why I think the book would move up from 5.0 to 5.5. Maybe you could have that area pressed with a tacking iron rather than having the whole book pressed.
