Gonna give this a shot. Can't really see the FC top right corner from the scan, but on the pic of the BC it looks like it could be blunted a little bit. Other than that and what you pointed out, I think 8.5

Um, there seems to clearly be a water stain in the top right corner of the back cover.

 

Can't give this VF or NM. If I bought this as a 9.0, I'd be unhappy.

Yes, the stain is going to hold this down, at the very best 8.0, probably 7.5 .

Yes that stain keeps this probably out of the 8.0 range. Looks sharp otherwise!

Would people say stains like these (small ones) on nice looking books would most likely come back a 7.5 and nothing higher? Owner of my lcs swears by it!

I recently bought a "NM" ASM 300 that had sharp edges and no spinal wear but when I opened the package there was a small water stain on the back cover so I sent it back and told him to shove it if that answers your question
