Auction vs BIN... which is more accurate?

65 posts in this topic

Auctions aren't a "true indicator of value" any more than BINs are.

So many factors influence auctions, it's not possible to make that claim.

For example...I auctioned a book that was a one of one modern 9.8 SS (Gen 13 1/2)....it sold for $79...to the person whose $200 offer I had turned down several months earlier.

Yay.

Was the value of that item only $79? Sure, on that day, in that auction. But obviously the book was worth more, quantifiably, to the person who won it.

same book , different sellers, one month apart

Seller sold a bin for 1,950.00...

.. To the buyer who chose to auction it for 3,022.50

That doesnt mean that an auction is the true price or the bin. Theres no ONE answer to this riddle

Wow - two people REALLY wanted that 9.4. Considering 9.6s are going for $2,700.

Yup, and im pretty sure that the 2nd buyer KNEW he bought a book at an inflated price, since its the same slab and an effortless search will show it
