Five Days Till May 29th Washington DC Comic-Con: Special Guest List Continues to Grow

Washington, DC – Capitol Collectibles is pleased to announce the addition of national and local comic book artists and writers Mark Texiera, Louis Small Jr., and 21st Century Sandshark Studios to the May 29th Washington DC Comic-Con. Special guests will be available to sign autographs, draw sketches and accept commissions during the day of the show.

Mark Texeira's past work for Marvel has included the Sabertooth miniseries, Avengers, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Black Panther, the X-Men Movie Magneto Comic and The Cyclops miniseries. Besides his work for Marvel, Texeira has also done artwork for such varied companies as New York Magazine, Scholastic Books, MCI Records, Def Jam Records, DC Comics, Harris Publications, Wizards Of The Coast, Wizard Magazine, Image Publications, Black Bull Entertainment, Fleer/Skybox and Penthouse Comix. He is probably best known for his work from Harris comics, including his work on Vampirella and especially Pantha, a character which will always be linked to Texeira's artwork. Mark recently did several covers for DC's Birds of Prey series.

Louis Small Jr is recognized as Harris’ original Vampirella artist. He penciled the first color Vampirella series for Harris in 1992. Small is considered by many fans to be the modern heir to the legendary Jose Gonzalez of the 70’s. His Harris projects include: Vampirella Strikes, Sad Wings of Destiny, The Vampirella Crossover Gallery and Vampirella/Shi. In addition to his work for Harris, Louis has worked on Ka-Zar, DC’s Secret Files, Lady Death/Evil Ernie trading cards, the Batman 80 page giant, Codename:Knockout from Vertigo and a host of others.

21st Century Sandshark Studios is the small press enterprise of artist/writer Dan Nokes. Nokes' current project is The Paranormals (Think X-men meets Scooby Doo). Paranormals is a 12 issue limited Series. His previous work includes: The Reptile and Mister Amazing (2002). Dan's future plans include finishing his Paranormals limited series and then moving on to do a Western (The Pistoleers).

The Washington DC Comic-Con will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 29th, at the Marriott at Metro Center in the heart of downtown Washington. There will be platinum, golden, silver, bronze and modern age comic books, toys, t-shirts, DVD's, original art, and much more. Not really familiar with any of your dealers (I'm not from the area). I think NJPower sells on ebay. Hopefully, I will be able to find some nice bronze DC war and horror. I'll have some cash burning a hole in my pocket Sunday.
