...to hate all super hero movies and love comics?

I hate them all, I give up and will watch no more. :slapfight:

I do like the non-super Hero movies.

The Road to Perdition was an all time favorite.

I thought this guy made some good points, the last superhero movie I saw at the theater was ASM 2, I still watch them when they come out for home viewing and even buy some of them.

(shrug)

I don't hate them but I have little motivation to see any of them. (shrug)

At least you like the non-superhero material. But none of the other movies, TV shows or streaming shows?

I can't imagine bailing on all superhero movies right before Civil war and Dr Strange come out. That's like asking for broccoli and tomato juice for your last meal.

I love vodka and V8

Are you equating Batman v Superman with broccoli and tomato juice...?

are you allowed alcohol for your last meal? I'd rather be stone cold drunk when they stick the needle in.

I dunno, but I know if I was in that situation you better believe I am asking for a full bottle of absinthe with my meal lol

Wow, I love the majority of them.

Many are doody, but Winter Soldier, DK, Avengers, IM 1 (to name a few) are amazing entertainment in my opinion.

Another fellow couldn't find the joy in superhero movies. But in a way, thank goodness.

Ray Liotta Regrets Passing On Trying Out For Tim Burton's Batman Movie

04/22/2016

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Liotta expressed regret over not going to meet Tim Burton about a film. The film in question was Burton's original Batman movie, that went on to star Micahel Keaton in the lead role.

"But I do regret, the first movie I did was a movie called Something Wild. Right around that time they were thinking of doing Batman, and Tim Burton was the director of it, and I got a call from my agent that Tim Burton wanted to meet me for the role of Batman, and at that time, it was 1986 or 87, it was really the first comic book movie that I know of that was coming out, and I always regret it because I think TIM Burton is such a great great director, and I've always regretted not going to meet him, just to meet him and just to talk, whether I agreed with playing it, because I couldn't wrap my head around and understand to play Batman, that seems silly, so I regret that, that I didn't go out to meet him."

Silly superhero movies.

The first Captain America was not a good movie. They made Red Skull and Zola look like two of the three stooges as Cap's group washed over all of their bases in 5 minutes, and their troops had stormtrooper aim. No one was in any danger, and they ruined Red Skull in the process.

Kinda rewrote WWII's history a bit as well with the Germans. Once everyone had ray guns, I was pretty much out (good first half hour though). LOVED The Winter Soldier though.

To be honest though, I don't think he would have fit the role. Boss Gresham would be more his style I think

I think the problem is the same I have with some of the Star Trek movies. Too much time is spent on introducing characters I already know. kind of like a 'class reunion'.

I already know all that just get to the story. The movies are obviously geared to increase the audience beyond the comic book reader and I get all that. The end result though is I am quite bored by the time they get into the story.

Surely, there must be one you like?

I loved the 2 different takes on the Joker by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.

I could see a full movie on the evolution of the Joker. Sad that Ledger left us far too soon :sorry:
