PGM Help with 3 Modern Back Covers

1 post in this topic

Posted in Comics General, but simply, does anyone know if these kinds of defects can be present on a NEAR MINT BOOK? 9.2+? 9.0+?

Thanks!

Are these instant VF+????

Marvel has really poor quality ink/paper. DC has that thicker card stock, that shows EVERYTHING too. However, the regular DC paper has issues as well.

I've been wondering if these marks, usually from distribution, sometimes from production, how exactly would you mark off for the following examples?

A) A DC comic, Looking at the front, it would pull a 9.8, no stress marks, and no imperfections. Back cover, it looks like the staple process or the shipping process took the color right off.

B) Same, a 9.8 FRESH FRONT! Super Square MARVEL Comic. Light White speckling on the upper right.

C) Another Marvel comic that would be 9.8 if judged on the front alone, this one has the same speckling as the last book, only a little worse.

Again, am I off base that these are all VF+ if no other defects? Or does it all get looked at for manufacturing/distribution wear that is overlooked and only keeps it from being a 10 or 9.9?
