Writing on cover

Considering buying a golden age comic that has some minor writing in ink around the logo. A few numbers and a kids name. What could I expect as a grade knock down?

Writing is allowed in certain grades.

For instance, writing on an otherwise NM- copy will have a more deleterious effect than on a lower grade copy.

In 4.0 or less, it should have zero effect on the grade.CGC is surprisingly forgiving on most writing.

My Amazing Spider-man #1 is a 5.0 has Spider-man's eyes colored in with a ball point pen. The rest of the book is in such great shape though - I couldn't resist.

Interesting and maybe I never noticed it but a prior sig non witnessed on some books get a qualified label?

As I understand it, if a book is HG, it will get a green,or they will treat it like a defect and give it a lower grade at the owners request.

If I'm mistake , someone will correct it.
