Hey guys. Thanks for the help with the other books from last week. Can you grade this and explain why you marked it down? As I mentioned, I am working on learning to grade more effectively and you are a big help!

^I agree with you that it's noteworthy and some bindery defects are treated with ZERO deduction.

 

Sadly I don't know CGC well enough to predict how this particular printing defect affects scoring.

 

I *think* some bindery defects (much like date stamps, but not store stamps) are practically ignored since they are bindery defect, particularly when such defect is readily visible: bindery crease, miscut left or right, or up or down (but perhaps crooked cut gets deduction), spots of ink from rollers on cover or interior pages, maverick corner miscut.

 

But not sure about dull blades that lead to the micro tear effect.
