Precode Horror at its finest!

DSC01835.jpg

If I remember correctly, in the story that's represented on the cover, the big green alien actually turns out to be the innocent one. It's been a while since I read it, but the situation is the opposite of what it looks like. I also recall that this is one of the handful of stories that has the words "Squa tront!" and "Spa fon!" in it.

This copy is beautiful. My copy is low-grade, but it does have one thing this copy doesn't -- interior signatures (at the top of the first page) by both Al Feldstein and William Gaines.

Black Magic #21

It took me awhile to find a nice copy of this book at a good price. What drew me in was the dynamic drawing of this tavern scene. So much going on. So expressive. It reminds me of the incredible Dutch painter Frans Hals. Now this is what I call a Halloween party!!

The Thing! #11

I can't say enough about how cool I find this cover. My personal art style is to try and cram 20 pounds into a 5 pound bag. So many nooks and crannies here, including that famous title with it's usual band of critters. Seven kinds of PreCode awesome going on here folks! :headbang:

If you haven't already, check out my Halloween Auctions! They are ending tonight! There's some TERROR-ific pre-code horror books being offered this year:

Not that it's a big big deal, but I'm pretty sure we're supposed to limit this sort of thing to the Golden-Age Marketplace thread (in this section) and the Marketplace section (a different forum from this one). Otherwise everybody would be posting their sales links in every thread all the time.
