In the wake of creep clown sightings, reports of creepy comic book collectors are now reaching local authorities. The first reports were made at an apartment complex located not far from the Old Ranch strip mall where a comic book store has operated for several years.

Accompanied by his mother, a child told investigators that a sweaty, slightly overweight, middle-aged man appeared near the edge of a wooded area between the complex and the strip mall and asked, "Hey, kid...you like comics?" Allegedly, the man was holding worn copies of children's comics featuring old cartoon characters.

"It's the kind of thing we take very seriously," Detective Tracy told reporters. "Approaching children and offering them old comics just makes people nervous. We're hoping that someone comes forward and identifies this man so that we can talk with him."
