Marvel Value Stamp Books; what are they worth?

Thanks for the reply so it was Bronze age, but still sad none the less. Does anyone have a Spider-man list with the stamps so that I can maybe go back and check my collection, or even the link to the site mentioned above. This reminds me of the time Marvel printed the Foom stamps in the British reprints and again they invited you to cut them out! Yes I have to confess I did but it was so cool getting that Hulk envelope, I still have my Foom card somewhere.

Well many of of us did cut them out because we were just kids and didn't know any better.

I know I did-- even a bunch of series B.

Never even had the books to put them in.

Now I have a pile of these along with some regrets.

Not sure why Marvel felt this was a great idea back then--

maybe it was along the same lines as the Pin Ups--

which I also cut/tore out to pin to my wall.

They were eye candy and who wouldn't be tempted by the "Clip 'em and collect 'em" message?

I tried going back and identify which stamps/pin ups I took out of which books

and have even put them inside the bag on the other side of the backing board.

Thankfully someone put together the list of all the books that had stamps in

them to help us check and see if we have damaged them.

They are both neat in a way but harmful in others. Finding a book with MVS still

intact is sort of a bonus from the ones I purchased off the rack.

back then we were kids, and comics were just fun, not these valuable collectibles.

While I didn't cut value stamps, I destroyed some comics by:

Cutting out some pictures

falling asleep in the bathtub and waking up to find my comic floating

accidentally using a HULK 181 as a cutting mat :P

fun times

yep -- it was normal wear and tear when you are a kid. The other thing I did was use a stupid "first class" stamp and just went to town on lots of my stuff-- comics, a Marvel calendar, some class pictures from school. Somehow I did not use the multiple stickers all over the place-- though I think I used some of my doubles to decorate my comic book cabinet.

Then again-- this was before we started using plastic bags or searching for the best copy in the rack. Chalk it up to "Mistakes were made" under the label of having fun with your stuff.
