Best Judge Dredd story/tpb? 0

I just saw the 40 year anniversary of 2000AD and it made me think that I have never read a Dredd book. What are some good tpb I should check out? I prefer newer stuff, 20ish years or newer.

The Judge Dredd Complete Case Files trade paperbacks are decent quality reprints, thick, and you might find the stories vary in quality but overall the books are pretty good value for money.

Also, and getting the obvious out of the way, even though it's much older material you really should read the Bolland-drawn Dark Judge storylines.

I really enjoyed the Judge Death storyline, first came out in 1983, and has been reprinted in several formats. I do not know if it is in the above named compendium but it is found in this TPB:

The best Dredd story, hands-down, is "Block Mania" and "The Apocalypse War" (the former story leads into the latter and the two stories are always reprinted together in various "Apocalypse War" trade editions).

I agree, the Bolland stuff from the 80's was awesome. I had most of the Eagle/Quality run. I don't know the state of trades, but it looks like you can still pick up the floppies without too much trouble...
