CAPTAIN MARVEL (MARVEL, 1968) - $1,500

AVERAGE GRADE: VF/NM

This is the real gem! A single-owner high grade set full of amazing art, plus everything
BUT Thanos' 1st appearance, everything BUT Carol Danvers' 1st appearance (including
the book in which she gets her powers), and just so much Jim Starlin cosmic goodness!
There are some books which do fall into the FN/VF range, but many/most of the keys
are gorgeous. I've included some random back covers just as spot checks, but if there
are any others you need to see, just let me know!

POWER OF WARLOCK/WARLOCK (MARVEL, 1972) - $95

AVERAGE GRADE: FN/VF

A key Marvel cosmic series from the 1970's... with an interesting history! Adam Warlock got his own
series after a major character revamp in Marvel Premiere #1 and this Roy Thomas / Gil Kane
series was born! But after eight issues it ran out of steam in 1973, until Jim Starlin - who had left
Captain Marvel a year earlier decided to come back to Marvel and chose as his return to revamp
Adam Warlock! So the series picked back up with #9 after a two-year hiatius, and had Starlin's
notable flair for the cosmic - along with his favorites like Thanos -- and helped redefine the
character! This book points the way to Avengers Annual #7 / Marvel Two in One Annual #2, as
it was Starlin's introduction of into Warlock and his supporting world!

SUPER-VILLAIN TEAM-UP (MARVEL, 1975) - $50
AVERAGE GRADE: FN/VF

This is a quintesential Bronze Age Marvel series! Basically a team-up book between
Dr. Doom and Namor, the series also: brings in the Fantastic Four, crosses over with
the Avengers (#9), crosses over with the Champions (#16), introduces the Shroud (#5),
kills off one of the oldest characters in the Marvel Universe (Namor's girlfriend, Betty
Dean) (#2); while also bringing in Red Skull and Magneto.  I doubt there will ever be
a hugely valuable book from this series, but its a great Marvel read!  Hope it finds
a good home!

VISION AND THE SCARLET WITCH (MARVEL, 1985) - $15

AVERAGE GRADE: VF/NM

Remember when the Scarlet Witch went crazy and tore the Marvel Universe apart? Got rid of all the
mutants and all that?  Well this series was that start down that path! This series was all about her
and the Vision as they await the birth of their twins... children we later learn were just figments of
her magic, and figments that, when she learned they were fake, drove her crazy!  Oh along the way?
A whos who of the Marvel Univese guest stars in this fun series.

CROSSBONES 1ST APPEARANCE (MARVEL, 1989) - $30

AVERAGE GRADE: VF/NM

Crossbones has emerged as one of the more fun and interesting new threats for pre-Hydra
Captain America, and one I'm sure will resume his place as a key player once Cap is de-Hydra-ered.
For now, we have the debate one which Crossbones 1st appearance book you're partial to - #359
or #360.  Much like the Apocalypse choice above, it's much easier to just take this opportunity to
just get nice copies of them both!

MANTRA (MALIBU, 1993) - $35

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

Sword and sorcery from Malibu comics in the 1990s! Mantra was a cool high concept series that
ran for 24 issues.  Might be a stretch, but I wonder if people are going to be wise to the fact that
these books not only crossed over with the Marvel universe (especially Loki) towards the end, but
had a storyline dealing with Infinity Stones. There's a picture of one right smack dab on the
cover of issue #22! Included in this lot are two mini-series, including Godwheel which was another
Marvel tie-in, and the Mantra: Infinity standalone.  There are also two copies of issue #1 of the
regular series : one is opened (but still includes the inserts) and the other remains polybagged.

AVENGERS VOL. 3 (MARVEL, 1998) - $100

AVERAGE GRADE: NM-

Classic lineups consisting of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor.  George Perez art. THIS is what
many people think of when they think of the Avengers! Here is the entire 84 issue run of this great
series, plus the additional four issues (#500-503) when it reverted back to classic numbering for the
final four issues when it all came crashing to an end! For completists (as if a full, 84 issue run isn't
enough!), I've also included two annuals.

INFINITE CRISIS (DC, 2005) - $20

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

The sequal to Crisis on Infinite Earths, in 2005 DC comics again created the
mutiverse... but also used this comic universe-wide event to revive characters,
change histories, and introduce new characters.  There would be a "Final Crisis"
a few years later, but this seven-part event is a crucial part of DC history.  Plus,
as a Geoff John's written series, it's worth a read!

BATMAN AND ROBIN VOL. 1 (DC, 2009) - $35

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

An enjoyable 26-issue series which preceeded the company-wide New 52 relaunch. This series
takes place after the "death" of Bruce Wayne, so it follows the exploits of the new Batman
(D*ck Grayson) and Robin (Damian Wayne).  It's a great introduction to Damian, and a fun wish-
fullfillment for fans who have always wanted to see the original Robin grow up and take over the
cowl. And it all leads up to the dramatic return of Bruce Wayne at the end... which really doesn't
matter since New 52 will happen and wipe it all out anyway. Still, it's fun.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: REBORN (MARVEL, 2009) - $15

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

After Captain America was "killed" following Civil War, we found out he wasn't.. he was sent to the
past (Hey... wasn't Batman not killed too? And just sent to the past? Don't ask these questions)
Anyhoo... this limited edition series was meant to be five issues (see the cover to #1) but actually
ran 6.  Also included is the "Who Will Wield the Shield" follow up, because... after fighting your
way back through history, the thought of picking up that heavy shield is exhausting!

NEW AVENGERS VOL. 2 (MARVEL, 2010) - $45

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

Today you can't throw a stick without hitting a new Avengers book with some odd team that
lasts for six books... but back when this book launched it was unique. This WAS the "New
Avengers"... a different group, more street level.  With character such as Luke Cage, Spider-Man,
the Thing, Wolverine, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, etc.  Lot of good stuff here.  It also has some of the
best Avengers vs. X-Men tie in books.  Inlcuded here is the entire 1-34 run, along with an extra
16.1 issue and the annual.

A-FORCE (MARVEL, 2016) - $15

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

One of the only good things to come out of Marvel's Secret Wars was the concept
of the all female character team, A-Force. After an five-issue mini series, they got
this 10-issue run which was well done... but came to an end due to yet another
company-wide event, Civil War II.  Got to think it won't be the last time we see the
A-Force in some way shape, or form.  She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Dazzler, etc.. made
for a good team!

ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT AVENGERS (MARVEL, 2016) - $30

AVERAGE GRADE: NM

Another new Avengers team... and this one was interesting! It was youth infusion with the new
Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales Spider-Man and the new Nova joining vets like Vision, and Iron Man,
and then legacy characters such as Jane Foster's Thor and Sam Wilson's Captain America.  But
again, Civil War II and the desire to spin off the youth into the new Champions brought this to
a halt.  Still, some good art and storytelling for it's 15-issue run.  As a bonus, included are
issue #0 (which previewed several new Avengers titles, not just this one) and the Avengers
Fan Fiction Tie In, which focused mainly on Ms. Marvel and Miles Morales.
