Is that dirt or a bend on back cover below the You - may just be a spine tick .  I'm seeing 9.2 maybe 9.4 with a bit of erasing.

It was dirt.  I didn't notice that, thanks. I carefully and gently removed it... with a wet, soapy wash cloth.  That's the recommended method, yes?

Quickest way is sandpaper
