Da Rules for the Contest!

Lets be sure this is right before someone starts screaming the rules aren't being enforced.

 

Scoring:

 

4 points for being dead on

2 points for being 1 grade off

1 point for being 2 grades off

 

First to 44 wins

 

 

Deadlines:

 

Every Monday and Thursday a new Round will begin.

Deadline for grades: 11:00 AM EST on Mondays and Thursdays.

Can we have some sort of 'cut' after a while so that the contestants don't have to wait for 73 grades to be submitted in every single round, like golf does when the field is halved after the second round is complete?

 

Maybe the top 30 contestants, by points, plus ties, make the 'cut' when the first contestant hits 25 or 30 points? The remainder of the contestants wouldn't be 'playing on the weekend' so to speak.

Yes, so there wont be any mass confusion on points awarded, this (Deathloks recommendation) is the system for points given.

 

4 points = dead on

2 points = 1 grade of

1 point = 2 grades of

 

Your first guess is the only guess accepted, so think about it and fire away.

 

Deadline will be on Monday and Thursday before 11:00 AM Board Time

No exceptions will be made sumo.gif

 

The day before a new Round will begin, I will post a list of all who have not submitted.

Yeah but what would happen if lets say after 5 rounds, the difference between 1st place and last place is less than 10 points.

 

I say let it go the way it is, and lets see how it plays out.

Then perhaps they should not have signed up for a grading contest?

EVERYONE can find 5 extra minutes in a day , log on.. grade the book and be gone in a jiffy.

Keep the contest rolling.

 

To say those that have a life cannot grade quickly is not really accurate. Appears to be more a matter of priorities then it is time constraints.
