#1 is a historic book; after all it is the book that saved Marvel. So that fact alone would make it worth a little more than what a 1.0 would normally go for.

But if I am buying this as a guy on a budget do I spend $1,000 on Curt's #1 1.0 with a torn cover? Or do I drop $1,250 on a higher grade #2?

I could see it going for $500-700 on the outside. But as the FX-7 action figure auction proves; auctions sometimes defy reason and sanity.

I would give it a 1.0. I would still get it pressed if the cover is firmly attached.  It may raise it a whole or half grade . That could be worth some extra $$$$.

I'd give it a 1.0. I agree that you should wait until you have multiple books to send in for grading.
