Would you attempt to erase pencil markings on brittle pages? 0

 Please note these are brittle pages as designated by CGC. Would your answer be different to have a professional, cleaning service do these such a CCS ??

I would leave it as is.  If the book has brittle pages then that has been factored in when it was graded.  I would think brittle pages is worse that having writing in the book.

You would be opening yourself up to a world of hurt.  Brittle pages would most likely crack and flake just thumbing through the pages. Imagine what would happen if you tried erasing something off those same pages. 

When I get books with brittle pages in I tell every customer know the same thing. "Not worth the risk."

I would never risk it, unless it was a drek book not worth a buck, and then I might try a kneadable eraser just to see what would happen.  But if it was important enough to have been graded, not a chance I would try.
