Is the final straw for 3rd party imaging unless you use a website like PB or Imgur? Got the first warning after at least 18 years of using my cable's free ISP web space for picture hosting. Should I be begin migrating my pics to somewhere like Imgur now?

Imgur is easy to use, but it's hard to organize your stuff there. You can create albums, but that's more about sharing things as an album that collecting images for internal organization. If you're selling somewhere like here where it's helpful to upload your images in order, Imgur is not good at that. I find myself uploading images two at a time (front/back) to keep things in sequence, but that's a pita for large numbers.

But, again, super easy to use.

The https requirement was forced on eBay because of a change Google made in October:

It's easy for eBay to change their own pages to use HTTPS, but they can't themselves change the content within seller item descriptions.

I just take a pictures of products with my smartphone and it actually is faster than the old ways. At first I was hesitant. now I can see how much time I save by just snapping a pic with the smartphone.

This is another situation where people were trying to screw over ebay so they took away outside links (Plus there was some issue with Google blocking content). I clicked on a picture link not too long ago and it took me to a pic of the book but also contained info to contact seller outside of ebay. Really miffed me because I liked having large scans of my books in the description field.

You can still have outside links. You can still have really large scans displayed in your listing's product description, even if they are hosted with a non-HTTPS web address. You click on the "See full item description" button and the large scans open in a new, separate window.

I have tried to avoid that at all coat just because eventually eBay will charge for that. Once they remove 3rd party which I thi k is a goal at some point.

Highly doubtful eBay will charge for photos, considering listings would be boring without them and therefore they’d lose buyers

They would start at .05 and work their way up its not that far to imagine that. Its a business they are there to make money.

You can still post pictures in the item description field that are hosted on non-HTTPS sites, its just that the ebay user browsing your listing will have to click the "see full item description" in order to view the photos.

Yeah I noticed that last week. Its not a deal breaker, but I have notices you get more questions from buyers who are too lazy to view the full description.

I can see why they did it, I am just trying to limit its impact on myself as little as possible. I either switch to ebays picture service or another 3rd party. Its just frustrating after using my own web space for 20 years and using whatever size pics I wanted to use.
