Bought it at a used books store in Slat Lake City, Utah. Copyright is 1978. No Credits for story/art. Cover price $1.00. 222 2-3 page stories about UFOs, no ads. Back cover advertises a Vol. 2.

Really, really poorly done.

Sounds like a compilation from Gold Key's series UFO Encounters and UFOs and Outer Space. Loved those comics as a kid! Yes, simply done but just vague/mysterious enough for a child's mind to run rampant.

This is part of a series of early TPBs published by Western in the late 1970s. Over the years I've been able to identify the following books in this format:

• Star Trek: The Enterprise Logs vols. 1, 2, 3, and 4 ( two versions exist - 1 with a cover price, and one with a black bar printed over the price) - these also have more modern reprints (from Checker Books, IIRC)
• Lassie
• Mickey Mouse Club
• Bugs Bunny
• UFO Encounters - #1 and #3 were published
• UFO Mysteries - title change for #2
• Questar Illustrated Science Fiction

Although the Star Trek books are well known, the others are all more obscure, and generally hard to find in high grade (IMHO).

and I loved those Gold KEy UFO books as a kid, but haven't read them in years, so I'm not sure how they'd stand up.
