I'm trying to get better with grading and I purchased this off of here as VF.  I would grade it as less than that.  Thoughts?  Thanks!!

To me it's not that far off 7.0. If pressing helps that spine crease would be a 7.5-8.0 possibly

Very Fine = 8.0

It's hard 2 c in da bag.....and there's no picture of da back.....there's some major problems along that spine...lot's of tics some quite large and looks like a dent there also....lot's of color breaking.....7.5

I would say its a loose 'VF', but mostly in the range, if the range is somewhat wide.

But some people are kinda in the camp of "If its not NM, and its not busted, I'm not gonna spend too much time looking at it, I'll just call it VF and be on my way."

two reasons- 1: I like looking at nice comics. 2: I'm slowly teaching myself to be a better grader.

I can understand that, but the problem it causes, is that it buries newer posts amongst the bumped older posts, and sometimes those get missed altogether. Sometimes people don't have the time to sort through it all. 

Can you not just look, and make a guess to yourself, and then check against what has already gone?

You really can learn just as well by guessing at the new posts, and then joining in the discussions concerning why a certain thing makes it a certain grade.
