Hi Guys, just saw this go up.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Giant-X-men-1-July-1975-First-Appearance-Wolverine/132773515294?hash=item1ee9eb101e:g:14gAAOSwUKhbkyw-

thought it looked alright, so did a bit of checking and then found this real listing.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Giant-Size-X-Men-2-1975-Marvel/85473045?iid=382555830677&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D53677%26meid%3Ddc4e12046dcd4377958a88fbba4e9d53%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D10%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D132773515294%26itm%3D382555830677&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Did contact ebay in the UK via message, but would not let me give any proper info and there's no live chat, maybe to late over here. I'm sure someone will buy this before the night is out :-(

Can someone explain to me the thought process of these types of scams? Since the buyer is protected, how would a scammer benefit in this situation? Are the scammers just really dumb? Am I missing something?

1 way is the scammers get the money, close the Paypal account and leave E-Bay/Paypal on the hook for the reimbursement.

New members dont get the money until buyers confirm they received item.  Its really a dumb scam attempt.

That's right. 21 days, or some such time frame, that paypal holds the funds in limbo if a seller has not established a good working track record with ebay of delivering items in a timely manner?

yep and you cant just be a buyer for say a year and bypass this-as soon as you start selling, you go on probation I think for your first 3 sales.
