My first post and a recent pickup.  Wondering how that tan line will affect grade.  I didn't notice that wrinkle that runs the length of the cover 1/4 inch in from the spine.  I'm thinking it could be from the book not laying flat in the scanner.

I don’t know , first scorpion looks brown an faded with rusty staples?.

Definitely has a serious tan but no rust on the staples and the cover isn’t brittle.

Does the interior of the cover, or the pages, have tanning ? A CGC designation of Light Tan would be a serious blow to the grade. It may be your pics but the book looks very dark and 'dirty'.  Also, that vertical crease close to the spine that you mentioned is called a reader's crease and will severely affect the grade. I'm going to say 4.5 on this book. If  there is no interior tanning, maybe a little higher 5.0 ish.

Thanks for all the replies.  It definitely looks like I way overpaid but I’m getting it pressed and graded anyway.  Will let you know when it comes back.

My guess is 5.5-6. A press & clean will certainly help. I’m curious to see how it comes out. Good luck!
