CHALLENGE OF THE UNKNOWN #6 in 1.8. Wild horror cover in increasing demand; fairly tough one-shot. This is a low grade copy; cover wrap is detached at staples; staples are rusted with some transfer stain to pages. The main draw here is the crazy cover, and while there is edge wear and moisture damage as the scans show, the main image looks great and glossy with amazingly strong colors and deep greens, some of the nicest I've seen on this cover. Best-looking 1.8 on the planet. Complete with offwhite pages.

[fifties]

"VILLA OF THE VAMPIRE" was used in the New York Joint Legislative Commission to study the publication of comics in 1951, so the book has some notoriety.  The story was reprinted in Web Of Mystery 19 (which I have; damn eerie story, eh eh).
