Obviously, it is wiser to pick up a nice orig. art Frank Miller pg from Wolverine ltd series, DD or Dark Knight. 1 of a kind art & gr8 growth potential over the next 2 yrs as ppl get tired of the census going up on their silver cgc 9.4s ooo.gif & 9.6s.

Exactly, following the crowd has NEVER been a way to make money in any collectibles field.

Using our resident Forum Legend greggy as an example, while all the were running around paying horrendous amounts for Valient comics, he was scooping up high-grade keys for guide fractions. It wasn't "cool" to do so at that time, and I imagine he got ribbed a bit for not buying into the hype and wasting his money on "that [!@#%^&^]".

Who's laughing now?

Who has ever made long-term money following the crowd into hype-infested waters?

Always keep in mind that any investment is inherent on the price paid vs.what you can expect to sell it for in the future. Very, very few HG CGC comics will appreciate in the future, and the smart money is walking down the road less travelled, nabbing what may be hot in a few years, for fractions of their Guide value.

This is one of the reasons why orginal art may show the best investment potential in the comics field. It is certainly a niche market at the moment but that could easily change when comic collectors either complete their runs or decide they actually want to buy some geniune one of a kind collectables.

I just find that regular series #1 issues are more collectible and desirable than their limited series counterparts.

dont look now, but that Wolverine regular series just turned into a 170-issue LIMITED series cause they're starting over with #1 again soon. And cheesus those are some scary census numbers for both books!!!

Yeah.....I know......sadly Marvel has a habit of doing that. mad.gif

But it's still considered his first "regular" series. And you're right.....those are some scary census numbers for both of those books. shocked.gif
