James J Johnson
Just curious as to the blue tinge on all the scans. All of the listings. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JOURNEY-INTO-MYSTERY-115-CGC-9-0-ORIGIN-LOKI-NOT-IN-85-SEE-OUR-9-8-THOR-s/283548586278?hash=item4204d01126:g:EIQAAOSwVLZdK73k Are these being scanned with the scanner top open, the room lit in blue? Seen this before. PGC listings several years ago. Everything tinted blue gives the books a look of being vastly undergraded (as stated in many of the listings), the blue mollifying defects and giving the paper a crisp and colorful look. BerkbridgeFoundation
Yes we scan with the top of the scanner open so that there is no pressure on the CGC cases from the scanner door/top. We use the lid of a comic book box to cover the book during the scan. The white background scans are the outer side of the box lid and the black background scans are the inside of the box lid. On more expensive books, we provide close up photos in the listings and if a buyer requests specific photos, we are happy to provide them. Wasn't 100% sure what was accounting for that tint. I tried it, scanner door open to see and didn't get quite the same effect. Room lighting and surroundings or the scanner and processor itself likely accounted for the difference. Your results look fantastic. My open lid attempt, not so much. BerkbridgeFoundation
Thank you very much. We use a HP Scanjet 8720. If you notice on some listings, we have one scan with the white background and one with a black one.
