STARTLING COMICS #53 (Canadian) in 1.5/1.8. Fantastic "Xela" Schomburg airbrush cover! Incredibly tough book; it took me 10 years (and setting a new GPA record) to finally upgrade. Spine is rough, about 75% frayed/split; cover wrap is still attached at the bottom staple. Solid eye appeal, offwhite pages.

WEIRD SCIENCE #17 in 2.0. Classic Wally Wood female abduction cover, and a great Ray Bradbury story inside. I the book was restapled for some reason. The colors are really strong on this copy... most #17s I see have a faded look with weaker reds/purples. Attractive lower-grade copy.

PLANET COMICS #4. Awesome "rivet" Planet with neat early interior art; a perennial favorite in my sales threads. The centerfold is missing and the book has slight-to-moderate resto on the cover (tear seals, minor color touch). Quite nice-looking copy with unusually vibrant reds. Most recent GPA sales are $840 for a 2.0 and $212 for a .5; I'm confident this copy presents better than either.

DETECTIVE BOOK MAGAZINE, AUGUST 1930. Scarce "oriental menace" pulp cover that would look right at home on an early issue of Detective Comics... though it predates those by 6-8 years (!). Spine splits at top, page corners are getting chippy/brittle though the book is reasonably supple overall. Cool cover. You might never see another copy.

AIR ACE V2 #1 in 3.5. Very cool concentration camp escape cover with lots of war-themed stories inside (Nazis invade Arizona!). Nicer than average copy with good colors and an attractive front cover. Back cover has some stains and wear. Tough book.
