Hello,

im new to cgc and was just wondering about a few things. It may be answered in other boards but I didn’t see what I was looking for. My great grandfather passed away and left me a whole bunch of silver age comics. I’d like to submit all them (a little at a time to cover cost) because they are so old and some reasonably valuable. My first question is should I send in the ones that are damaged a lot? I’ve been told different things by different people and watched videos about what to do. But those usually involved modern comics. My other question is how many comics can I send in? For modern comics it said minimum of 15 but I’m sending in silver aged. When I clicked on the other option it said I didn’t meet the required amount of comics even though it didn’t say I needed 15. Maybe that was just a glitch. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you very much

Good morning, thanks for your post!  Welcome to CGC!  If you haven't already checked out this page on our website, it will help you with getting started: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/how-to-submit/  Once you are ready to send in your submissions you will need to complete an online submission form which you can access once you have signed up for membership.  You can find our services and fees page here: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/cgc/

There is no minimum or maximum number of books you have to send in for grading unless you are submitting for a service such as QuickPress or Pre-screen.  These services do have a minimum number of books you must submit.  If you can advise which services you are interested in, I can provide you with more information.

We can't really advise you on which ones to send as it would all depend on what you ultimately want to do with your books.  If you are just planning on selling them then you might wan to consider what you could get for the book versus what it would cost to have them graded.

We do also offer a pressing service, if you have books you might want to get graded but have some minimal damage.  Pressing can help remove some defects and could possibly result in a higher grade.  You can find out more about pressing here: https://www.cgccomics.com/ccs-pressing/

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
