CGC inner capsule, has something changed? 0

Just bought a Hulk 181 purple label 6.5 (c1 slight color touch) and cracked it to see about getting the restoration removed.

I was a little surprised to open it and not see a sealed inner well?  The comic was just floating between 2 pieces of plastic.  I've never seen this before when cracking a book in the past, so I'm hoping this one wasnt tampered with or anything.  Was there a change away from the inner well semi recently?

I just received a 25 book shipment and a number of the inner wells move in the cases. My guess is that it is a production quality issue right now. I would suggest that you contact CGC and ask them directly.

It is okay. The books are sealed tight in the inner well, unlike yours, but the inner well moves in the case a bit. This is the first time I have ever had it happen.

Pretty sure this is to prevent newton rings.

Could be the older holder that had the creep engine effect. CGC stopped using inner wells and just sandwiched the book between two pieces of plastic, but it had bad side affects.
