An appreciation thread for Gilberton, who started off with Double Comics in 1940 and continued to publish comics after 1956. They eventually went defunct in 1971, their longest-running series during their Golden Age years having been Classics Illustrated, Classics Illustrated Junior, and Classic Comics.

I don't collect CI Jr but copies still make it to my boxes. I would not envy any one trying to collect these in grade. Most I see / have / find are in tattered condition -

Still a good collection even though you didn’t intend to collect them in the first place!
