Popular Post Pat Calhoun
Since I inherited the bound set of Astounding 1947-1959 that my brother and I put together back in 1960s (his idea to bind...) when my local shop got in a couple of nice 1943-1946s (not seen often in wild) a quest began... The digests began with the Nov 1943 (second from left in top row), making 38 issues pre-1947 of which I bought 27- skipping a few lesser covers... Popular Post frozentundraguy
I do not own many pulps but I do have two issues of Astounding Stories. Pat @Pat Calhounwas nice enough to gift me the April 1935 issue which has a story "The Lotus Eater" by Stanley Weinbaum, which I have not gotten around to reading yet, but will shortly. However I was fortunate to find a story of his in the September 1935 issue of Wonder Stories titled "The Ideal". Sorry for getting side tracked but a page of the Ideal story before my 2 issues of Astounding. I was able to obtain this issue back in April of this year at a local bookstore of note (Dreamhaven Books). Several of my favorite authors have stories in this issue, including Clifford Simak, L. Sprague De Camp, and part 3 of "The Legion of Time" by Jack Williamson. No GGA on the cover of this issue but it's my fav of the few pulps I do own. Also in that issue, the first published science fiction story from an author by the name of L. Ron Hubbard! So a very long, crooked line from that pulp to this masterpiece RedFury, frozentundraguy and waaaghboss 2
