Yahweh is the "official" name or the god of Judaism. It is not allowed to be spoken by any save the high priest, in the holiest of holies in the Temple, and then only on one day of the year.

The other priests would actually tie a rope to the high priests waist to make sure they could drag him out of the place if Yahweh struck him down, seeing as how they couldnt enter.
