BriGonJinn
Just bought an ASM 300 cbcs 9.0 for a great price. The comic surprised me how nice it was. It looks really good, and hasn’t been pressed. The main flaw is the chipped lower left corner (pictured). Do you guys think this 9.0 grade is justified? I was thinking of cracking it, getting it cleaned and pressed and submitted to cgc. I own an Asm 300 in cgc 9.4, and this 9.0 one looks way better IMO. Should I bother with clean, press, regrade with cgc, or just leave it? Does damage like this get penalized harshly? I was hoping a cgc licensed grader could chime in here. Does this damage smash the hope of this book grading better? FoggyNelson
ned
What do the grader notes say? They are available on their site, may be a good place to start just to see what brought it down to 9.0.

Falcon760
A press and a clean is not going to help that rough corner. Look at that thing, man. namisgr
greggy
I told you in your FB thread that I saw this book raw and you're not going to get a 9.4 out of it. A 9.0 is an appropriate grade for this book. I don't know why you keep asking on numerous sites. You either are going to do it or not. How many people do you need to help you make your decision. onlyweaknesskryptonite
The press and clean may or may not help, but you can send it in , still encapsulated to a good presser and have them assess the book and see if they believe it would benefit from it. Then they provide their opinion to you. Although if it were me I would do it anyway , as you will still likely gain enough value( if you already got it cheap ) just by getting it in the CGC holder vs what it currently resides in, even if it still kept its current grade. Just my Btw if I were going to do this I would send it to CFP ( Joeypost) and have him assess the book for CPR. Just remember that all of these companies have been backed up with a longer wait time , but like most good things they are worth the wait.

Now I am curious. ( Know not to post picture of label for other company) BUT could you post a front and back picture of the CGC 9.4 and a front and back of the 9.0? I wouldn't mind seeing them for comparison.

Had first crack at a storage unit books that a LCS bought and I saw that book. He said that he wanted to hold it back to grade and because it's wasn't in top shape, I said sure cuz they weren't that hot in the summer. @Buzzetta onlyweaknesskryptonite

I was just picking my jaw up from the full and lengthy reply. That and I was typing a reply at the same time. This was one of the reasons I would like to see the full pictures. Hopefully of both books. There are almost always unseen/overlooked issues. Plus I know a few times we have seen were some buy the grade and not the book, so I am curious if maybe the 9.4 might not present as well and that is why he suggests that the 9.0 might appear "better" . Still I definitely think that 180-181 are WAY better if that is what you got instead of the LCS storage unit books.

They go from doctor to doctor until they receive the diagnosis they were hoping for. @BriGonJinn If you are looking for someone to validate your desire to CPR the book then go ahead and please do so. However, with those spine ticks and the rough lower left corner on the front cover, I suspect that you got the grade the book should get. Maybe one of the NCB spine depressions are ironed out, and if you are lucky and they grade the book on a Cracksday, maybe you get a 9.2. What happens though if you get a 8.5? Are you prepared for that? onlyweaknesskryptonite

The Lions Den
Many times, a book in this grade range will have a number of minor flaws. So seeing the entire book with good clear photos or scans is an absolute must... silverseeker and greggy 1
