Difference Between Light and Moderate Staining
0

3 posts in this topic

Hello CGC,

I've recently purchased graders notes for a few books, and was curious as to the difference between "light staining to cover" and "moderate staining to cover"?

Does the category of staining refer to the type of stains (for example, light surface stains as opposed to more noticeable water stains), the number of stains, or both?

I'm really hoping this question can be answered, but also understand that this categorization might vary from grader to grader.

Thanks so much for your time!

Good morning,

Thanks for your message. Staining can encompass basically anything that resembles a stain. It is a broad term that could only be affecting gloss, or could affect gloss and paper. Usually light staining refers to surface stains, however.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thank you!
