Farayray
Hello all, new to the boards. Debating on submitting my copy of ASM 129 and wondering about the grade. Obviously has some major flaws including the MVS being cut out and the two holes (staple holes?) that penetrate the whole book. Thoughts?
Funnybooks
What is your intention for the book that you would consider slabbing? That will help us determine if you "should" slab it Sell? Preservation? Both? You like slabbed books? Mars76
Glassman10
It's kind of crunchy. I saw this comic of which I have owned two, over at High grade in a 9.4. Bob was asking $7,500.00 which surprised me. So, indeed clean it up and slab if your intent is to sell. I don't think it does any better than a 4.5-5.0, maybe worse. Crunchy, like I said. Bayowolf
There are a lot of non-color breaking creases/folds "crunchy" that a press could take out. Do that. Also some soil that a cleaning could get. Where are these holes? Very tiny ..since you said from staple? Probably not affect grade much. With something missing, like MVS, you would get a Qualified Label from CGC. I think with a CP you could get a Qualified 6.0 maybe 6.5.
Farayray
Quote Thanks for the replies. My intention is to sell this copy and upgrade. The (staple?) holes are right by the “H” and “E” in “The Punisher” on the cover. I guess getting a c&p and then having it graded is the surest way to maximize the return on this copy in order to subsidize payment for the upgrade. Zegeroth
This is a gold mine press candidate. Should press to a 5-
rexinnih
As you state, if you're selling, press and slab. You will recoup the investment when you sell but there's a bit of a wait right now before you get the book back so depends on your timeframe.
