The first two pictures were taken outside in sunlight; the last two pictures were taken in our basement. I am not trying to hide or disguise anything. The way our house is situated, there is very little indirect sunlight in our house during this time of year.               I will be honest with you - I am selling this book to fund the purchase of a Showcase #4. I am willing to negotiate, but don't expect anything like a 10% discount. I need every penny I can get to pay for the SC #4. Please help a fellow collector purchase the book that started the Silver Age.

Here is my final BEST offer. If I don't receive any offers by Sunday evening, then I am going to have to move these books to another venue.

IH #181 for $8,500, which is 6.5% lower than the last sale price on Ebay.

GSXM #1 for $4,950, which is 6.3% lower than the last sale price on Ebay.

Shipping for each book will be $10, which will be substantially less than my cost.

That's a really good price on the 181. This is a nicer looking 8.5  than the one that sold on eBay last night for $700 (plus taxes) more.

I know that I said that I was going to leave these books up for sale until Sunday. However, I was hoping to net approximately $15K by selling these books, and the prices that I offered would lead to a net closer to $13K. As much as I would like to have the money immediately, I know that I would be kicking myself later on the down the road if I left $2K on the table.

I have decided to take these books off the market until the market stabilizes. I believe that, at some point in time, prices will start to go back up, although that might be over a year from now. Despite the fact that I will continue to worry about this situation, I know that in the long run, this is the best decision for me to make.

I would like to apologize if I let my frustration spill out into my posts both here and elsewhere. I used to have an almost infinite amount of patience, but it seems to be decreasing exponentially as I get older. I need to save all the patience that I can for my two grandchildren. Besides, in less than six months, I will be on Medicare. And in less than two years, I will begin drawing Social Security, and my wife and I will be making more money at that time than when we were both full-time employees, as I have no intention of stopping my second career as a substitute teacher.

Thank you to the people who liked my posts, and thank you especially to @KCOComics for his sound advice and support. And most importantly, thank you for looking at my thread.

My SC 4 is supposed to arrive on Monday. That's bound to cheer me up, right?
