PGM - GI Joe #1 (1982 ... never read; still in bag)

My younger self purchased two copies; one to read, one to keep.  After sitting 30 years in a shoebox in my childhood bedroom closet, it has seen the light of day again.  I've never sent anything to be graded or "pressed" so I am a total noob, but this comic seems like something worth preserving.  (The "reader" copy was much loved and will continue to just serve it's function as a "reader").

I'm not opening the bag.  Forgive the photos...there appear to be some minor wear on the spine, likely because it was stored flat for decades, but I at least put it in a cardboard-backed cover when I last saw this comic...when George Bush (the first one) was President.

If you can make sense of my photos, I will appreciate ballpark grades and thoughts as to preservation services (which as I finally took critical notice of a few bends/creases along the spine, I suspect will be well worth the money.  Thanks in advance to any who reply...

My photos also sucked, so apologies there.  I feel like I should leave it bagged when I submit to CGC, or am I being crazy?

From what I can see, it may need at least a press - hard to tell with it being in the bag. Take it out of the bag yourself carefully and board and bag it before sending.

Can't give an accurate grade with it in a bag

As already stated, too hard to see in the bag. At the very least I will say it's likely high grade (VF-NM).

Careful handling won't damage the book. Pics then will allow us to better assess. Then bag & board proper. Go from there.

Thanks for sharing.
