No WONDER Aunt May took Peter into her care without hesitation... 

This was the Quesada storyline that was going to be the origin of Peter Parker.  Stars, May, Mary, Richard and his brother Ben.  They live in Queens.  There is a baby involved named Peter.

It makes total sense that aunt mae got pregant in the 70s and gave birth to peter parker in the late 1940s and was in her 80s in the early 60s.  Kang may have been involved.
