A few notes: No tears but a few small creases. Light foxing on lower left spine of front and back covers. The big issue is the very top of the front and back covers which looks like staining or possibly a dust shadow of some sort. It’s very light but does go through both front and back covers as you can see. Thanks much!923FFE29-BB4B-492F-8702-C39379813686.thumb.jpeg.5be81a91638db2222ebf7f40ab2cd38f.jpegBD18B8B4-4182-40B8-B69E-1071A5009DFD.thumb.jpeg.4c5d56b0aeede453bf804edaeabc29cf.jpegD25FC89D-35B7-4E38-8AD2-A9223244EDDC.thumb.jpeg.af9cb8cbd05e81226fc0f0627fce4b32.jpeg8F063695-36AB-4B36-9364-DA28C57290B1.thumb.jpeg.973098a0e9bd231846772e1336c73ef9.jpeg

Your images of the inside front and back covers reveal that both covers have a tideline running across the top edge.  Tidelines result from direct contact with free moisture (not just atmospheric moisture or humidity).  These moisture stains will be the big issue in the eyes of CGC.  :foryou:

Tidelines? I’ve never heard that phrase before but its apt. Moisture makes sense in terms of what we’re seeing. I was aware of the damage when I purchased a couple of years back but clearly wasn’t sure exactly what it was (unlike the foxing). Does CGC grade tidelines the same way they grade staining? If not, is there a rough guideline for how tidelines affect the grade? I’m guessing cleaning isn’t going to help here.

Moisture stains are a type of stain, and CGC absolutely hammers books that have 'em.  I've never heard of moisture stains being removed by "non-restorative" dry cleaning.  I think the grade estimates that have already been offered are reasonable.  (thumbsu

Got it. Thanks for the rundown. And thanks to all for the grade estimates!
