Hi, this has the date of issue written on front (1967). I’ve heard that this doesn’t affect the grade, is that true. Grateful for community to offer what they think it might be graded at. Thanks Brad

Yes and no.  It's true that distributor arrival dates generally do not justify a grade deduction.  However, the 1967 was placed on the cover by a former owner, not the distributor.  So different standards apply.

The corner, edge, and spine wear on the front cover is great enough to justify a condition grade of 5.0 VG/FN to 5.5 FN-.  The full-length subscription crease, soiling, and yellowing/discoloration on the back cover are significant enough to warrant a further downgrade to about 4.0 VG.  At this grade, the small 1967 becomes irrelevant.  The book would grade the same with or without it.

Hand printed dates can have a small impact on grade, but it’s hard to nail down a grade for me.  Press to a 5.0…possibly.

Couldn't go any higher than 4.5 with that sub crease but nice book!

5.0 after
