Oh no! I just looked at it again…. It doesn’t appear like it’s moving. Is there a possibility it some sort of glue/seal?

I was afraid it was a rip but wasn’t sure from your pics. That sucks! Probably not glued but just stuck in place from storage. Unfortunately dings the grade down a bit more. :frown:

So would it be in the 7.5 range now?

It’s a shame since the cover is so nice otherwise. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Was hoping to get it slabbed in the future but not sure it’s worth the $ now. 😢

So could it still be a 8 or 8.5 with the color break? Have you seen books with damage similarly with grades at 8 or above? Just wondering if worth slabbing it.

Talk to the seller and he admitted he saw it but didn’t think it was a tear- just an area that was “pushed in”- though not disclosed.

If that's a tear, I wouldn't grade it 8.0.  Unfortunately, I'm thinking 7.5 is the grade.  Still an awesome copy of a very tough book in high grade.  (thumbsu

FWIW, there are currently only 26 copies of that book graded (despite being the number one issue of the title) and although 14 of them are 9.0 or better, best of luck finding one of those.  I think they're mostly locked up in collections and not coming out to play anytime soon.  There are other high grade raw copies out there but again, most people that own the book, know how tough it is.
