Grade is here! PGM WildC.A.T.S. #50 - Chromium Cover 3 3

planning on sending my chromium Wildcats 50 in for the upcoming Jim Lee signature series event and would like some opinions in the grade I could possibly get. Overall, I think the book is in really great shape. The only thing that gives me pause are the light surface scratches that are on the front and back covers. I have tried to capture them with the pictures. I feel that this type of cover lends itself to easily picking up these scratches. I am hoping someone here has experience getting a book with this type of cover graded and can provide some insight into if CGC makes any special consideration in regards to these types of scratches.

I found a listing on eBay for this same book that has been graded a 9.8. It appears to have the same type of scratches on the rear cover. Hopefully this means my copy can get a 9.8 as well.

That’s how I hoped they would be considered. I picked up a second copy for 50 cents at a shop a few days ago that I am going to experiment with trying to buff some out. I’ve used Polywatch to get scuffs out of CGC holders and I think it could help with this type of cover as well. We’ll see.

9.4, maybe better. Chromium covers are tough to grade through pictures.

Got a 9.8 on this. I guess the scuffs on the cover are considered manufacturing and don’t seem to have hurt the grade.
