Slight problem in the description for comic graded CGC 9.4?

26 posts in this topic

The error itself might be incredibly trivial, probably a data transcription error, but the fact that the book got through quality control afterwards is quite poor.

Forget about where the book ends up in a few years time, just think about the current owner. They should receive back a correctly labelled slab. If they don't, they could just as easily receive back the wrong slab or a wrongly graded slab. Suppose the error wasn't issue 4 as issue 1, but a grade of 9.4 rather than 9.6.

The data on the label must surely be recorded on the paperwork kept with the book and it shouldn't be too hard for someone to check that they match before the book goes to shipping. There are less excuses for getting this wrong than there are for missing something like trimming, as the checks should be in place to guard against it. When one gets through, it just makes CGC look sloppy and further damages confidence.

Apparrently, the seller does not like to be asked about mistakes or have them pointed out.

Considering they are still trying to pass a #4 issue off as a #1, makes me wonder if they meant to pass the #4 off as a 9.4 and forgot to alter the label.

It is a good thing I had no intentions of purchasing anything from from a seller who doesn't seem to be able to provide trustworthy information on their items which are up for auction.

Abayo...
