Is it possible to find out how many "raw" issues of a comic were printed in total?...

The CGC census is a very helpful tool, but it only shows data about comics that have been graded.  If only one comic has been graded, you may think that comic is very rare, when in fact there have been millions that have been printed.

If the CGC does not have or cannot provide data on how many issues have been printed, then where could I research such information?

Good morning,

Thank you for your message.  Yes, the CGC Census is only going to reflect what we have graded here.  You'll find the total number of any particular book we have graded and then it will be further broken down into the specific grades and how many we have done of each of those grades. The Census does not provide general information about how many books were published/printed, unfortunately.

You could check with the publisher directly to see if they can provide those numbers for you.  I am not certain, however, if that is information that they will give out to the general public.

Thank you!
