 SOLD via PM! Battle #1 — Tough first issue of Atlas’ longest-running war title. 12 on census, none higher than 7.5. HA has sold two over the years, the Promise Collection cgc 5.5 in September 2021 for $780, and a cgc 6.5 in Jan. 2023 for $660. From what I can see from the HA scanned slabs, this copy looks structurally to be between them, albeit with some light foxing (most obvious in B in logo.)

Lots of likes on that Battle #1 — open to reasonable offers. I tried to price it fairly as I could based on the 2 HA comps I could find; feel free to look at those 2 closely and let me know if you read the tea leaves differently in triangulating among the three copies.

Probably jinxing myself, but..

 I am looking at possibly upgrading a PCH (non-EC) #1 today, so a tasty undercopy might also come up here later.

Ok, I hemmed and hawed for days over which to keep, even thought about keeping both copies. But I fell back to my usual tie-breaker — keep the one I had first if the new one is not a clear upgrade. This one is structurally better than mine, similar PQ, but has some cover fade….

Weird Tales of the Future #1 — I like it for about 5.5, (FN-) but the cover does seem to have some color fade. That’s the worst of it. 52 universal copies on census; Wolverton cover, early Ross Andru interior art. HA sold the Bethlehem pedigree copy, a cgc 5.5, in 2022 for $3,120. Accounting for fade and non-Ped status, let’s go….

Cupid #2 (Marvel 1949) in Fair, maaaaaybe FR/GD. Cover detached at upper staple, and that top right cover corner chunk is missing, obviously. Long-rumored (Overstreet still says so) to be a Bettie Page cover, but GCD and cgc don’t agree. GCD says it is Maggi Long, same photo shoot as Miss America #4. 

Only four on census; last HA sale the Crippen D (cgc 8.0) in 2018 at $480.
