Zack Snyder Gets Approval To Make Gears Of War Movie On One Condition

Snyder revealed the epic Rebel Moon trailer at Gamescom, and during the event, he and his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, were interviewed by IGN about the upcoming Netflix film. IGN asked what video game franchise they would like to bring to the big screen if given the opportunity, and after a brief pause, Snyder said Gears of War and Halo, stating that discussions about these franchises were already happening within his circles. Bleszinski responded on X, saying he approved, but on the condition that Dave Bautista plays Marcus.

 

A Gears of War movie was announced by Netflix, Snyder's current place of work with the Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead franchises. Bautista certainly looks the part of Marcus and expressed interest in playing the character before, and he already has a working relationship with Snyder from Army of the Dead. It could be that the stars would one day align for a Gears of War movie under Snyder, a director with a unique voice in Hollywood that has garnered the support of a dedicated fan base. There is little doubt that the potential Gears of War film would be a huge success given the large fan base of the video game and the director.
