There was a thread years ago about this when it was rumored Fox Studios had it in production. Long gone.

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group has acquired “Alien Legion,” a science-fiction comic-book series created by Carl Potts, Alan Zelenetz, and Frank Cirocco, with “Deadpool” director Tim Miller attached to direct, TheWrap has learned.

The studio picked up the IP with an eye towards building their own blockbuster space opera franchise. “Alien Legion” is being billed as “The Foreign Legion in space” or “’The Dirty Dozen’ meet ‘Aliens,’” according to creator Carl Potts, a long time Marvel comics Editor in Chief and writer.

Don Murphy and Susan Montford of Angry Films will produce, along with and Aaron Ryder. Andrew Swett of RPC will executive produce.

Potts knew Murphy and Montford through their many science fiction films, including “Buck Rogers,” which is in development at Legendary. Murphy and Montford had also tried to set the project up at Dimension as far back as 2002 but the studio never had the financial ability to mount what is expected to be a blockbuster event film.

Really?  A book I own suddenly "hot?"

Can't last, I'm sure.

Well, “hot” is relative.  The $12 VF copies at MCS sold today, but the $9 Fine copies are still there.

On the plus side, I’ve picked a few of them out of dollar boxes over the years.  :)

It looks like the $6 VG copies at MCS have sold now.  So the $12 VF copies sold first and quickly, and then people moved down to the VG copies, leaving the $9 Fine copies still there.

Copies are selling on EBay and new copies are popping up to replace them.  Top end seems to be $20 for NM looking copies, although it looks like there is a nice $10 copy sitting there now.

Speculation has commenced.

Less Lemmings than in past.

Don't believe it until you see it.

We’re seeing it now.  What was a dollar box book is now selling on E-bay for $10-15.  Those buyers are almost all speculators, IMO.

Was referring to a potential Film with "Don't believe it until you see it." - Even if a film actually see fruition, the new thing is if studio does not think it will make money they might shelve so the tax papers foot the bill. Hoping the id10t's in WashDC will change that but not expecting anything.

I would definingly have to re-read this (it's been decades) to have an idea if they could actually turn it into a good movie.

Trying to think of an analogue now and having a hard time.  Military movies + Aliens?  Starship Troopers?

Is the tone deadly serious or is it humorous?  I really can't remember.

Someone cleaned out the MCS Fines today.  So MCS is currently out of stock.

The E-bay price seems to be edging up.  One surprising thing is that I’ve seem a few lots of the whole series sell at decent amounts- the speculators usually stick to the 1st appearance.  Maybe there is some actual interest in reading the series.
