MAD Super Special #17, 1975.  The original Don Martin posters are still attached!!! :)

FN/VF, no better; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, with no fold-in creases.  This is a nice looking book, until you look at the bottom corners on the front.  The posters are firmly attached, but I didn't take scans or photos.  Again, I'll do so on reqeust. :)

$15 (or best offer) SOLD

MAD Super Special #18, 1975.  The original Nostalgic Mad #4 is still attached!!! :)

FN, no better; cream pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  This one could use a cleaning, but the back creases keep the grade down.  The insert looks good, but no scans or photos.  Let me know if you want to see it. :)

MAD Super Special #18 (2nd copy), 1975.  Same as the previous listing, but the insert is detached. :(

FN, no better; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  The insert was cleanly detached (more or less), but the cover on the insert was taped back together.

MAD Super Special #22, 1977.  The original diplomas are still attached!!! :)

FN/VF, give or take; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, with no fold-in creases.  I want to grade this one higher, but the entire top right corner of the magazine is mildly bent...a press will fix it.  Also, the front shows a small soil spot just below the letter 'L' in Special...it's very light.

MAD Super Special #23, 1977 (2nd copy).  The original stickers are still attached, but the magazine suffered moisture damage. :(

Not sure how to grade this one, but the moisture damage is evident on the back cover and mildly throughout the magazine.  Unfortunately, the stickers suffered the most, and are stuck together.  I think a press will help because I don't see any staining from the moisture damage.

$4, or free with any purchase (just remind me)

MAD Super Special #29, 1979.  The original Collectable-Connectables posters are still attached!!! :)

FN; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  Damn those creases too...this would be a higher grade magazine.  The posters look great.

FN-, no better; cream pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  Both covers shows some wear and tear near the bottom spine corner, and the front has a small tear near the letter 'D' in MAD that transfers to the first wrap.  The insert looks good.

MAD Super Special #37, 1981 ($1.75 variant).  The original fold-out map of the U.S.A. is detached. :(

There is a $2.00 version of this magazine, but I'm not sure if one is more rare than the other. (shrug)

FN-; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, with no fold-in creases.  The map is cleanly detached, if you can believe it.  Unfortunately, the front suffers from some kind of light pink staining around 'MAD Map of the U.S.A.' on the front.  I can actually feel it a bit, so it may clean off.

$8 SOLD

The Worst from MAD, 2nd annual edition (1959).  This volume reprints MAD #35 to #40.  The original record is not included. :(

FN, give or take; cream to off-white pages.  This one is complete...there's no fold-in with the older mags.  The front has a bunch of soiling, but the 'ink' marks below the word 'from' keep the grade down.  It may or may not clean off.  I'm not confident with my grade estimate on this one.

$20 (or best offer) SOLD

I have to make a correction here...the last two magazines I'll be listing are not The Worst From MAD, they are More Trash From MAD.  That's what I get for not paying attention. Lol

More Trash From MAD, 8th annual edition (1965).  The life-size poster of Alfred E. Neuman is not included. :(

VG/FN, give or take; cream to off-white pages.  Complete, and no fold-in to crease.  I wasn't sure how to grade this one because the glued portion of the bottom spine corner has separated and looks funky.  The magazine is completely attached at the staples, so it's secure...just never seen anything like this before.  See the photo...any questions are welcome. :)

More Trash From MAD, 9th annual edition (1966).  Some of the bonus stickers inside have been removed, but the rest are still attached.

Possible provenance with this one: I believe this magazine was with my father in Vietnam, at Pleiku Air Base.  I'm not 100% certain, and he doesn't really remember anymore.  He was Air Force Security Police, K-9 Patrol.  He walked the base perimeter watching for the Vietcong/NVA.  He was in country for 14 months roughly, and was wounded in action and sent home.

The comic seems to have a bit of a stale cigarette smell or incense odor, but it's not very powerful.  He would have smoked in-country and burned incense, but switched to cigars and pipes after I was born.  This I can attest to.  As a civilian firefighter, he LOVED his cigars.  He always loved burning incense too...don't read anything into that. :)

FN, no better; cream of off-white pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  The page you're seeing sticking out of the top are the misaligned stickers, not actual pages.  As I mentioned, some of the stickers are missing.  I wouldn't doubt that my old man attached them to equipment/helmet while in Vietnam. :)

I hope everyone's holidays went well.  Personally, I'm glad they're over...less knucklehead's out on the roads and in the stores. :) I'm still dealing with a pinched nerve in my arm, but I've got stuff to do so I'll suck it up.  Let's get the rest of my MAD Magazine's listed, shall we??!!

Just a reminder that these are my personal Modern Age MAD's, so they are in the bigger mylar bags with bigger boards, as posted on an earlier page. (thumbsu

MAD Super Special #73, 1990.

VF+, or better; off-white to white pages.  Complete, with no fold-in to crease.  Both covers show some spots of light soiling that will clean off.

MAD Super Special #83, September 1992.  The cover indicates that a Star Trek VI spoof is inside but it is actually a Star Trek V spoof.

FN; maybe better; off-white to white pages.  Complete, but with fold-in creases.  A cleaning will help.
